Tompkins Square Park dish
Dish -- for my willfully obtuse readers that is slang for gossip.
Harry Greenberg was honored today in Tompkins for his service working all these years in the Parks Department!
Way to go Harry. Rumors were flying that like Marlon Brando at the Oscars he may not take the stage to accept the awards but it wasn't political, Harry is a humble guy.
Using the women's bathroom today in the park I had high praise for Harry because he designed almost no cost tamper proof soap dispensers and so today I had the luxury of washing my hands with soap.
I got the bathroom doors restored to the women's bathrooms which I will always be proud of.
Also hot dish from Tompkins is roses are coming and at no expense to the city which is bust but from a generous donor group that loves the park.
Thanks because sometimes the park smells bad and this will make it easier to smell the roses!
Note: to my sharper readers....the flowers are behind bars....as if most of the park....and why is that?
The many fences are there as a strategy to prevent the mayhem of the Tompkins Riots....but the rate the economy is going....who knows maybe the park will return to those darker days. For now Tompkins appears over run with pushers, parents pushing strollers although the park of course has drug pushers. The only park that doesn't is Gramercy Park because you need a key to get in.
